Comments: Also known as Genius(Tensai), Shohoku's Secret Weapon (Himitsu Heiki), Red-hair Monkey (Akagezaru), Rebound King. In love with Haruko Akagi, was dumped by fifty girls in elementary school, and also has an intense rivalry with Kaede Rukawa. Easily excitable, volatile temper (sometimes associated with Dennis Rodman), and has amazing jumping ability and speed that help counteract his fouling all the time.

Position: Small Forward
Height: 187 cm
Weight: 75 kg
Grade: Freshman
Comments: Also known as Super Rookie, Shohoku's Ace, Fox Man (Kitsune Otoko). Untalkative, but very cool with his own fan club who goes to all of Shohoku's games to root for Rukawa with their annoying cheers. He is an all round player and his only possible weakness is that he doesn't really depend on his team members. When things start going bad, he always tries to change the flow of the game by himself which often works, but...He also planned on going to America to play basketball, but Anzai-sensei told him to become the best player in Japan first, so now he has become a very determined and focused player.

Position: Center and captain of the team
Height: 190 cm
Weight: 90 kg
Grade: Senior (3rd year)
Comments: Also known as Gorilla (Gori). Very good leadership ability, he was also scouted out by Japan's top college basketball university (I forget the name) over Uozumi and Hanagata, although they didn't pick him in the end. He is also famous for his two-handed "Gorilla Dunk".

Name: Hisashi Mitsui

Position: Shooting Guard
Height: 184 cm
Weight: 70 kg
Grade: Senior (3rd year)
Comments: Also known as Micchi. He is very devoted to Anzai-sensei because of the encouragement he gave to him in the final seconds of the elementary school basketball tournament (I'm not sure of the exact name). An excellent three point shooter, although he also was chosen as Most Valuable Player in that tournament. Like Rukawa, he does not have a lot of stamina, probably because he didn't do sports his first two years in high school. My favourite player in the team.

Name: Ryouta Miyagi

Position: point guard
Height: 168 cm
Weight: 59 kg
Grade: Sophomore (2nd year)
Comments: Also known as Ryouchin. In love with Ayako, he was like Hanamichi in joining basketball to impress the girl he likes. He has a lot of speed and his small stature allows him a lot of mobility. He succeeded Akagi as captain of Shohoku basketball team.

Name: Kiminobu Kogure
Jersey Number: 5
Position: Forward
Height: 178 cm
Weight: 62 kg
Grade: Senior (3rd year)
Comments: Also known as Mr. Glasses (Megane-kun). Vice-captain of the Shohoku team, whenever one of the star members is out of the game, it is usually Kogure who will take his place. Also good at three point shots.

Position: Point guard, Guard and Center
Grade: Sophomore (2nd year)
